Ballot Proposal Recommendations

Wayne County Transit Proposal

Vote YES

The 12th Congressional District Democrats support the Wayne County Transit Proposal to improve transportation, expand mobility, and increase access to employment, education, healthcare, and other essential services throughout Wayne County.

Detroit Public Schools Community District Millage

Vote YES

The 12th Congressional District Democrats support the Detroit Public Schools Community District Millage. This proposal is structured so that it does not increase taxes on homeowners and is supported through business property taxes. Passage of the proposal will provide continued investment in educational opportunities and support for Detroit students.

Together, these endorsed candidates and ballot proposals represent experienced leadership, strong Democratic values, and a commitment to building stronger communities throughout Wayne and Oakland Counties.

Proposal 1 Michigan Constitution Rewrite

Vote NO

The 12th Congressional District Democrats WILL NOT support holding a new Constitutional Convention (Con-Con) to amend the state constitution.  

A Con-Con allows delegates to make sweeping changes to the state constitution, opening the door for Lansing politicians and special interests to write their own rules and agendas without any accountability or oversight from voters. 

Vote NO on Prop 1 in the General Election and support the 12th Congressional District Democrats'.

Proposal 2 Money Out of Politics

Vote YES

The 12th Congressional District Democrats WILL support the Money Out of Politics measure. 

Proposal 2 asks whether to:

• Prohibit regulated electric and gas utilities, contractors with over $250,000 annually in government contracts, and people and organizations with substantial connections to these utilities/contractors from making direct or indirect campaign contributions to those who run for or hold offices that impact them.
• Expand laws regulating spending on political communications, including those requiring disclosing donor information, to apply to communications clearly identifying candidates or ballot questions, even if they do not expressly advocate voting for/against them.
• Expressly apply the law requiring disclosure of who paid for political communications to internet political communications.

Vote Yes on Prop 2 in the General Election and support the 12th Congressional District Democrats'.
